The day started early with a delicious breakfast at the same place we went on the day of the Vatican tour. It turns out that in Italy, breakfast is usually just pastries and coffee, so we went back to this restaurant for its American style breakfast. I also got to try Italian hot chocolate, which was SO good!

After this, we traveled to a church near the Termini to see Michelangelo’s statue of Moses, which was beautiful. We then traveled to take one last look at the Colosseum before waking back to the hotel to do some last minute shopping and prepare for our transfer to the cruise.

The one hour ride to the port was fairly uneventful, and afterwards, we went through the check-in process to board the Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas! I was SO excited to finally get onboard!

The first thing that we did after setting down our luggage and completing the muster drill assignments was get a late lunch at the Windjammer buffet. Afterwards, most of us attended a half-hour talk about the ports we would be visiting and what to know about getting on and off the boat.

After this, we spent a bit of time unpacking before we headed up to the top decks to watch the boat leave the port in Civitavecchia. After this, we played a family game of mini golf. We didn’t officially keep track of the points because of the moving boat and the wind blowing my hair in my face the whole time.

Later in the evening, we headed to the main dining room. I ordered a tomato soup appetizer, spaghetti bolognese, and a key lime pie, and everything was delicious! Afterwards, we headed back to the room to turn in for the night. We had a very early morning coming the next day for our tour of Sorrento & Pompeii!
